Double Your Dating by David DeAngelo

Double Your Dating was one of the first books I read when I first got into the seduction community. There's no question that this book is a great one, but it really serves a specific purpose that may or may not be what you're looking for. In this review we delve into Double Your Dating, by David DeAngelo, and explore whether it'll work for you or not.

Easy Implementation

Like I mentioned, this was one of the first books I read when I learned about the seduction community...before I even knew what a pickup artist was - in fact it was my first ebook (and certainly wasn't my last). I read this book at a perfect time...right when I was starting to learn how to get laid. This book is really geared toward people who don't have a lot of experience with seduction and while I'd probably recommend another book (like Swinggcat's Real World Seduction) if you're experienced at all, this book is an absolute great starter for those just learning about seduction (read: big time AFC).

Part of what makes it great for beginners, and not so great for the more seasoned among us, is that DeAngelo's writing is incredibly clear and easy to understand, and actually implementing the strategies he covers in this book is actually really easy. He really doesn't go too deep into psychology like some other writers in the genre do, but where his explanations may be simple to a veteran, that's exactly what makes this book so great for beginners. Throughout the book, DeAngelo's able to draw an incredibly clear picture when it comes to exactly what to do to have more success with women.

It's All About Cocky Funny

DeAngelo covers different situations a guy might find himself in with a woman and recommends various specific implementations of what he calls being "Cocky Funny". "Cocky Funny" is really just a state of mind that most guys are severely lacking and it's an incredibly simple way to describe the inner game you might hear described in such complexity by guys like Mystery. Basically, he teaches you how to develop specific communication styles and personality traits, all of which trigger attraction instinctively in women...most of the techniques are things women don't even realize turn them on, but they work amazingly well.

So, the major thing you get out of this book is a really clear understanding of Cocky-Funny, which is really the perfect way to describe the personality that causes some guys to get laid like rock stars, while other just hang around wondering what they're doing wrong.

The Major Sections

The book starts out by explaining why it is that most guys have no idea why the hell women do what they do, much less how to attract those same women. Appropriately titled, "Women Don't Make Sense," the first chapter is devoted to explaining why most men don't understand women at all. The second chapter covers the process by which DeAngelo's own thinking evolved from being completely baffled by women to having a really thorough understanding of exactly what motivates women, and how men can use that understanding to find more success with women.

Part 2 is where DeAngelo starts to talk about the whole idea of Cocky-Funny and explains what a Cocky-Funny guy does in specific situations. This kind of detailed explanation was invaluable for me when I first got into seduction because it helped me link the concepts with their specific, real-world applications. Part 2 wraps up with a primer on looks and body language and what, if any affect they have on attracting women.

Part 3 is where DeAngelo takes all the concepts he's covered up to this point and shows exactly how they can be applied in specific situations. He starts off going into the basics of style, class, and how to fascinate women...not just get them interested, but specific things you can do to really blow their minds. DeAngelo then goes on to explain exactly where to meet women. This may seem obvious to some, less obvious to others, but the ideas he covers in here are just fantastic. You learn the whole gammut of what DeAngelo's spent years learning from exactly where to meet women, to what to say when you approach them, to getting them interested in you, getting the phone number, and how to get that first date without breaking a sweat.

One of the things DeAngelo goes into in Part 3 is something that struck me as strange and unique when I first read about it...that's getting a girl's email address instead of her phone number sometimes. I have to admit, when I first read about it, I thought that was crazy...I mean, the biggest problem after getting the phone number is getting the chick to answer to phone and agree to go out with you...won't email just give her the perfect opportunity to ignore you? Well, yes, if you haven't done all the other simple things DeAngelo has described up to this point...but what's amazing about getting a woman's email address is it that she knows that's an opportunity to blow you off, and she knows you know that, but the fact that you don't seem to care, that you're so confident that she wants to get together that you don't even care to take her phone number, that's the "Cocky" in Cocky-Funny and, when used with all the other tactics DeAngelo covers in this book, it'll drive her wild.

Finally, DeAngelo wraps up Part 3 with a rundown of how to take the relationship to that next, more physical, level. Then, if everything's going, you'll learn exactly what to do to keep her attracted and how to handle a long-term relationship...the subtitle of that chapter is appropriately titled, "The Beginning of the End, Or the End of the Beginning," reflecting the various ultimate goals guys have in going about learning this stuff. Some just want to get laid as much as possible, some want to meet the woman of their dreams. Either way, DeAngelo's masterful writing will get you on the fast track from beginning to end.

Extras Included with the Book

DeAngelo includes some great extras with the book, although, if there is one major weakness in this whole package it's the extras, but hey, they're free, so I guess I can't complain all that much.
